      <![CDATA[Haven't read Bourdain's book so can't speak to the charge of plagiarism, but the idea of “staying true to one's roots” is hardly a copy-rightable one, so it seems to me your main point is well taken. That said, I think that Charleston residents have enough exposure to fine dining that the pub food around town could be ratcheted up a couple of notches above sliders without landing on the far side of foie gras, and still meet with patron acceptance and a full till at closing time.
