Unfortunately most Americans are ignorant when it comes to the subject of economics and therefore don't have the understanding to clearly articulate the economic problems we face, much less offer viable solutions. So it's no wonder that many tea parties have gotten off base.
It is easier to gravitate to emotional responses regarding social issues because most people have some opinion they are emotionally bound to. Not so with economics, to our overall detriment. Little do people realize that faulty economic decisions are the direct cause of social problems. Trying to correct social ills without first correcting economic ills puts the cart before the horse.
Thanks for sharing your experience, Jack. Ron Paul's message of Liberty resonated with many, whom I hope will continue to internalize the concepts, study the great literature of liberty, and teach others.
