Re: “Charleston Bakery

This place is excellent. The best Corned Beef and Pastrami in SC. The soup is delicious and the Danish - the best I have had outside NYC. All made in House. Making the trip here weekly, its worth the drive.

Re: “Charleston police to move officers from bar district to problem-plagued neighborhoods

Well, there is a lot of asshats at CoFC who are undoubtedly on the 5 year program offered to unprepared fools whose parents have to bite the bullet and pay for that extra year for their "special" kids. There is also a equal amount of hard working kids who grow up and go on to bigger and better things. They are bright, respectable and have excellent manners. I have met representatives from both groups of kids over the years. They do get a little bolder (or perhaps just plain dumber) each year. Without a visible police presence - expect more of it. I know that I will verbally abuse Benny the Bouncer a lot louder than I will Officer Benny from any sidewalk on King. Going to agree with Chris on this one. Mayor Riley needs to be a better elected "pubic" official and actually think things through before issuing statements like the one above.

Re: “Mayor Riley and City Council have forgotten that Charleston is our home, not a trademarked tourist town

Lets see the city carry this one all the way through. I think this bodes quite well for the large Cracky McCrackalot Crew on Bikes on Upper King. The police will be so busy writing $$ fine generating citations that old Cracky can carry on his bidness $$ uninterrupted by those pesky police. Its a win win situation for Cracky and the Cops. As for the bar and restaurant owners - a nice surcharge on those hipster cocktails should cover the fines to come.

Re: “Roan Garcia-Quintana opposes interracial marriage but dislikes segregation

Gnu name, what logic? The man has none at all - so there is nothing he says that makes sense at all. He is hardly a Spaniard or White. I am from Spain - from Madrid, I am a European, my family goes back over 350 years there (we are newcomers). All of us in Spain apologize in advance for all of our families indiscretion's in Central and South America and Cuba during the 16th and 17th centuries. It seems that these early indiscretions now enable EVERYBODY to be a Spaniard and hence European. NOT. The man is a bigot against blacks, as well as considering homosexuality a perversion. How very 1950's of him - sooooo progressive. Against segregation, yet spouts out that he is against interracial marriage. Huh? Is that selective segregation? Let me have some of whatever he is smoking. Perhaps he should come on over to Madrid and claim to be a Spaniard or of Spanish Descent. A drop or two of Spanish blood a few hundred years ago does not a Spaniard make. We would love to give him a taste of his own bigotry.

Oh for the Love of God, somebody ship this idiot to Little Havana in Miami so they can straighten his ass out! He is a Buffoon and we have enough Buffoons. Miami is short a Buffoon or two so let them have him for a while.

Re: “Development boom, meet the Board of Architectural Review

Like the Harleston Row Houses, style and blends in. Lets be honest on the other 2, Fugly and cheap looking. Morrison Drive design looks like something designed in the 1980s and built along Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale. Back to the drawing board puh-lease.
