This is an awesome hidden (in plain sight) treasure. We went to a birthday party at the Landing and were very pleasantly surprised. Definately go on a day when they are firing the cannons, so exciting! Make sure you visit the "zoo" area, can't remember what they call it. Take your bicycles and a picnic and make a day of it!
I was making pickles and using the mandolin to slice the cucumbers when I sliced off the tip of my finger through every layer of skin (it looked liek the cross section of an onion.) I don't do blood, and it wouldn't stop bleeding. I'm also a huge sissy and refused to go to the hospital (partly because I knew there really wasn't anything they could and partly because I'm a huge sissy.) So I sent my husband across the street to our neighbor who happens to be a chef to get his opinion on how to handle it knowing he'd either done something similar or had been in a kitchen when someone else had. Long story short it's been 3 years and I have a scar and still have no feeling on the tip of my finger.
Perfect Summer Weekend
I love that there is hardly ever a time in Charleston when there ISN'T something going on.
