Every person who's commented on here so far appears to be a candidate for the spay and neuter clinic. What a bunch of idiots!
Al Canon is a total embarassment to Charleston County and SC. He reminds me of Al Gore or other men of that ilk who lose control of the facts under pressure. His other behaviors of late, such as slapping a suspect at the end of a car chase, just confirm that he's outlived his effectiveness and should retire.
Lakeland, FL, ought to be thanking their lucky stars about right now.
By itself the grammar thing would be trivial; however, in this case it's a symptom of a much larger disease. At the moment we have at state government being run by individuals lacking sufficient experience to do the tasks to which they've been assigned. And, this problem starts at the top. Obviously, the Governor's Office does not see fit to hire professional staff to manage their websites.
Chris, as I've said in comments posted elsewhere, many attorneys get paid to create "spin" (my apologies to my attorney friends), and that's exactly what this one did. I worked at The Citadel for a number of years handling cadet discipline and honor appeals, and this goes beyond spin and right into BS. It had me shaking my head about three sentences into the appeal.
Now that he's resigned, I think Poston realized this appeal wouldn't stand up to close scrutiny in front of the School Board and their attorneys.
Thanks for all your great editorials!!
