Re: “Over 200 rally for Charleston Birth Place’s survival

My husband and I never even considered another option except CBP. I was more afraid of the impact of unsafe interventions that hospitals often employ. We wanted to birth in an environment that would support a natural and calm birth. The midwives provided me with great amounts of knowledge and preparation as a first time mom. I never once felt that I was not receiving optimum care or that my baby or I were facing any risks. The staff is highly supportive, highly educated, and I trust(ed) that they would make the best decisions to keep us safe and healthy. Their statistics show evidence for that. A new interpretation of an old regulation is not promoting the safety of mothers and babies. It's taking away freedom of mothers to decide where, when, and how they will birth their babies. Where will it end? What will the impact be? (More interventions, more c-sections and the effects of that, more home births..?) #SAVECBP
