If you live in Park Circle - you would probably agree that we needed a proper grocery store more than anything!

Re: “Jerusalem Market & Deli brings the flavors of Palestine to North Charleston

I'm anxious to get my grub on and have open dialogue with Abdul.. Freedom of speech is still a right here? Or was Jon Stewart right - http://thedailyshow.cc.com/videos/7wnfel/w…

Re: “Over 200 rally for Charleston Birth Place’s survival

Here is my interpretation of what is happening. Basically they've had a law on the books for 20 years that says free standing birth centers must have access to a doctor on call when they are open. There is a male Dr who is friends with the governor, who feels that no births should take place outside a hospital.. Well.. they have "convinced" DHEC to re-interpret the existing law. They are now saying that the law really means that birth centers have to have a doctor on-staff at the facility at all times. . So these birth centers have to pay a doctor to do nothing or be closed by the state govt (DHEC). None can afford to do that so it would ultimately mean closing all free-standing birth centers (thus increasing $$ to hospitals). Meanwhile - these birth centers have MUCH better infant mortality rates and almost no c-sections. Look at the numbers / results and not let corporate greed drive this decision.
