The current payback for residential solar in SC is 9yrs. Commercial solar is less than that, most facility managers have to have a payback of less than four years to make an investment, solar can achieve that in many states. Investment tax credits are available for a wide array of industries such as utilities who use conventional generation,a level playing field would make solar competitive with fossil fuels. Solar won't replace base load but it sure can support it, at reasonable prices.
