I had no idea she had such a history, the article just sounded to me like a man being judgmental of a woman who didn't do what he thought she should do. Maybe *I* should have done MY homework! ;) Will be interesting watching this unfold. I genuinely hope this did NOT happen to her son. We'll see...
I'm not at all surprised this commentary was written by a man. To be a woman with a young child and have a large male publicly physically & verbally attack your child and have nobody step up to help or support you would be terrifying to most. Many times when ppl have traumatic experiences, they go into flight mode and just want the conflict to end. They also question themselves about what just happened, especially if nobody responded. At the end of the article, it says, "On Facebook, Katie says she has contacted the Polk County Sheriff's Office and the "ongoing harassment" was documented and is currently being investigated." Did you do any fact-checking by at least contacting the police department before writing this piece? To me, it seems like a classic case of a man thinking a woman is making things up because she didn't act the way a victim is "supposed" to act, whatever way that is.
