Re: “Taking Flight Comic Book Show

Just a slight correction, we are seeking a $5 suggested donation at the door for entry in to the comic book show, all of which goes to benefit Communities in Schools. And if you come to the comic show you can get a voucher for a 2 for 1 ticket to the movie later!

Re: “Local artist Proton created this year's City Paper Music Awards

We will have him as one of our guest artists at the next Taking Flight Comic Book Show (number 12) on December 5 right in Park Circle! Great art work and a great guy!

Re: “Get featured on City Paper cover, receive nomination for big-deal award

That is a huge accomplishment and honor! Congrats! At the next comic book show I am putting on in town early next month another 2015 Eisner nominee, Sandy Jarrell, who got the not for his work on the Meteor Men graphic novel will be a guest.

Re: “Mt. Pleasant's Babs Tarr joins the Bat Family and helps give Batgirl a much-needed Veronica Mars makeover

I was fortunate to see a screening of "She Makes Comics" by Park Circle Film Society and she exemplifies what they were talking about in the documentary. More and more women are coming back into comics and that is a great thing. The differing perspectives are pushing comics away from the fanboy anatomically impossible characters to real characters and much richer story lines. It is great to see this happening in the medium and when I put on my comic book shows I have noticed a big and refreshing change in the attendees from a dozen years ago when it was just a boys club.

Re: “On feminism and fun in the Archie Comics series

Archie comics are some of the most enduring and best comics out there. And no, you don't have to be a kid to enjoy them. They even have a zombie themed off shoot series called the Afterlife With Archie which started in 2013. At Park Circle Comics we always have a good response when we get a new batch of Archie Comics in stock.
