Wow, that was touching
Way back in 1989 when Hugo hit [hard] we didn't have power (in an "urban" area of N Chas) for three weeks.
The local WH on Rivers Ave (which has long since closed) had lowered a huge generator from a helicopter into the parking lot and the Waffle House lights were on -- and food was flowing to a very hungry populace. It was the only place for miles around that was open.
