WAY OVERPRICED: 2 dogs, chips/fries, soda costs $10. Menu is cluttered with illogical combinations, their chili is tepid gray wallpaper paste, they use nacho cheese instead of shredded cheese, no fresh tomatos or pickles.
Their "creative" flagship dogs are ever worse: beware "Sweet Potato Mustard", it is 1/4 yellow mustard and 3/4 Aunt Jemima's Syrup. Blue Cheese Slaw is probably good on its own but it doesn't work on the dog. The wieners they use are just average, not 1/4 pound and not as tasty as they should be.
Because it looks cool from the outside, puts style over substance, gets a lot of buzz, and is overpriced I am justified in calling it what it is: a TOURIST TRAP.
Perfect example of how weird life in South Carolina is: everybody is either Joe-Jesus-Junior and painfully "proper", or batshit-crazy-hedonistic. Actually these are usually the same people, so I'm surprised there's a clash.
Around Line st. Around Huger st. Around Piggly Wiggly. Probably high on Rutledge (bad driving at least). Maybe that quadrant of town east of King and above Calhoun. You don't need a computer to spot the bad areas, you just need to spend an HOUR getting to know the city. An HOUR, you know the thing cops clock 8+ a day of...it's a small town.
When you do see a cop in the areas mentioned, they are in a cruiser solo, driving aggressively while staring at a laptop. They aren't seeing jack, and it almost seems like they are running, scared to confront anybody in these areas.
if you want an quick-and-dirty algorithm to judge an area...percentage of American-branded cars over linear density of palm trees. Jalopies bad, palm trees good.
On a personal level: I do not wish for thousands to be siphoned from my paychecks so i can maybe save $.30 on gas. America needs to wake TF up on these fear-based wars operating on terrible math.
Maybe geologists are the ones who can save us, speculating on fantastic oil reserves outside the Middle East thus squashing all interest in the area.
Why would anybody be angry if their home increases in value, through no work or investment of their own? That is a free increase of your net worth for christsake! If anybody can't pay 1% property tax, they would eventually be displaced anyways due to total neglect and decay of their home.
Somebody should run out and document the intangible "charm" of this community if they are so worried about losing something, so that we can emulate it in future times. Maybe in that iteration, they'll leave out the scary bodegas, erratic drivers trolling for whoknowswhat and honking/booming/roaring, weaving wrong-way cyclists, and decaying wood structures.
Race-schmace, the place sucks and needs improvement or something of interest. If it was historically a Irish/Polish (ect) working class community, would anybody say anything??
This post is entirely non-informative. You do not know what the law means despite implying such in your title.
