Re: “500 people attend Charleston marriage equality rally at U.S. Custom House

This would all go away if the definition of two people entering a legal agreement that is recognized by the state as a "civil union". Marriage is a term that is defined in the bible. Don't hate me because I said "bible". If we can keep the marriages to the church and allow them to freely recognize whatever they believe and all states to have civil unions this would all go away. Last I checked the federal government does not marry/civil union people. The state does. By having a civil union, the state does not discriminate. Churches will have the ability to discriminate who gets married in their church the way that the NAACP, AARP, KKK, and golf clubs discriminate every day.
