Mr. Moredock can try to blame "white southerners" all he wants but the truth is these so called "white southerners" include "older retired northerners" many of whom now live in the 1st district. Their mantra is quite simple "no spending and no tax increases". Why else would they move here? They can get this type of weather in many other states. At the end of the day they still outnumber young liberals and the black vote. Most importantly though, is the fact that anyone and everyone could and did bash Sanford on the grounds that he did not meet their moral standards but when it comes time to vote, standing in that voting booth means you can vote for whoever you want and nobody has to know who it was you voted for.

You know when you can tell political candidates are lying...when they move their lips! It is such a shame this is the best the 1st District has to offer. WE DESERVE BETTER!!!

The people who are usually the most adamant against more growth are those that just moved here. It is almost comical how often I hear people say "well I moved here 3-5 years ago and just wish the growth would stop". Well trust me when I tell you, the people that lived here before you felt the same way....
