Re: “Is the Rarebit a stylish throwback or a brave step forward?

I went to Rarebit a couple of weeks ago for drinks with a friend. I was really looking forward to it but immediately regretted my decision the second I sat down at the bar. One bartender was "gracious" enough to walk away from his conversation with other patrons to throw the menu down in front of me and immediately walk away. Another bartender did take my water order (I was the first to arrive) and then left. When my friend arrived, the first bartender ignored us because he was still talking to his friends. Finally, a third bartender gave us the time of day (sort of) by pointing to me instead of asking my order, HE POINTED! When I gave him my drink order he didn't change his stoic facial expression and turned to my friend and pointed to him for his drink order. He sat down the drinks and that was it. I did see him smile when he saw his friends, though. I could care less how good the food is, the bartenders that night (It was a Thursday around 9pm) were rude, inconsiderate and borderline jerks. I should mention that we were dressed just like everyone else that night, but regardless, there is no excuse for such blatantly rude service.
