Homeowner associations have always been a bad idea. They subject homeowners to abuse by a few usually real estate agents who learn how to take control of an association and then looting from the other homeowners. In my homeowners association they contract at high fees to a company owned by the president of the homeowners. How this is allowed is beyond me. I suspect they are left overs from Sherman's march. South Carolina will always be harmed economically with the allowance of such bad organizations. Only Florida has worse laws and they cannot give property away in florida.
I see nothing but worse housing markets until someone gets a law which protects the homeowners from being raped by the disgusting thieves in the real estate industry in South Carolina. It is the real estate and legal industry which allows the associations to exist as thieves.
