Why can't you just be honest about the debate, Haire? Oh that's right, because your rationale simply doesn't work on its own, so you have to intentionally misrepresent the meaning of your opponent's argument.
Tell me, Haire, if there had been a handful of armed adults in that school, are you certain that things still would have ended as they did?
Gun control does.not.work. Simply declaring something contraband does NOTHING to make it go away. Some of the places in the US where gun laws are toughest (Chicago, DC, NYC) are the same places where they are used in the highest number of crimes.
Put keep putting your head in the sand, statists, and ignoring this obvious and simple truth. Keep putting your head in the sand....

Ron I think you are being a little hard-line and a little one-sided. Many of those positions & votes you are criticizing DeMint for are old, and more complex than you are allowing for. He took a substantial turn from the hard right a few years ago and his more recent comments and voting record lean consistently libertarian.
No one is claiming DeMint to be a perfect libertarian, anyway. But while he may not be a Rand Paul, he's far, far closer than 90% of national politicians, and on the whole, DeMint leaving congress is a big loss for Republicans who want to see a return to limited government.
