Re: “Mayor Riley, Chief Mullen want to close new bars, restaurants at midnight

P.S. CityVox sorry to hear about the spiraling property value you've been burdened with. I'm sure you've lost your shirt with all of the CAR walkers that you have to put up with. What a Joke.

Re: “Mayor Riley, Chief Mullen want to close new bars, restaurants at midnight

This has nothing to do with fun I assure you. For what ever reason the City of Charleston seems to think that there is more money to be made if store fronts on king/meeting/E.Bay are populated with actual stores. However true or untrue that line of thinking is misses the point entirely. The City should remember that in 2000 no-one would dare walk down King St above Calhoun after dark (certainly not a tourist). It took forward thinking entrepreneurs and venture capitalist to cause the mass migration Northward on King. Does anyone w/o a pace maker or hearing aid on city council really think that "People Matter" or the 5 hotels that are about to open North of Calhoun street would be there if that area hadn't been vetted buy the dozens of bars and restaurants that came before them? No.... it must be as a result of the Aquarium huh? It is utterly amazing how this city seems to succeed in spite of itself!

Re: “Free Beacon releases long-lost Southern Avenger excerpt

Let me be clear. The crowning achievement in Chris Haire's "journalistic" career was as the point man for the character assassination of his former colleague Jack Hunter. Well done Chris. As for Jack, I'm sure he will continue to make independent, thought provoking articles for REAL publications, while Mr Haire continues to write bumper stickers for the local coupon clipper. "I want to buy Chris Haire a beer" said no one EVER.

Re: “T-shirt company Flooded Streets coming June 1

I wouldn’t wipe my ass with that shirt. No way would I give Byron a cent of the profits. Ima Oldman is dead on right. If Byron does or doesn’t get his street meds this dude is super agro...makes no difference. Besides, Lord Byron has made a lucrative career of being our resident "urban outdoorsman"/parasite by looting unlocked cars, breaking into Mary St. parking meters, and mooching on the greater Gobacktoohio.com ex-pat population at CofC. Hopefully his cut of the profits can help him purchase a one way greyhound ticket straight out of town. But then again why would he? You assholes at the City Paper keep giving him trophies !
