I don't believe songs like these are written so people won't feel guilty for their blessed lives so much as to realize that they truly ARE blessed. It's very easy to take all of life's blessings for granted, or to think that somehow we've earned or deserve them based on our beliefs or actions...especially the more someone is blessed. I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of this particular song either, but if something like a song or a book or a movie or a TV commercial or whatever makes someone stop to think and perhaps change their outlook on life a little toward the positive, then I wouldn't consider that a bad thing. This song didn't have that effect on you, but who's to say it won't positively impact someone else who really needs it?
