The statement about drug use and derelicts could be applied to the entire North of Calhoun section of King Street in 2003. The neighborhood is much better, new young families could use a nice park. Instead the area will consist of cheap, tight housing rented and owned by college kids.
The street sweeping is 100% profit driven. $45 tickets, twice a week per district. They write about $30,000 a month worth of tickets just for street sweeping. Do the math!
Everything the city does a "trial run" of that generates profit, usually sticks and most of the time spreads.....
If anyone thinks these shows will have a "positive effect" on our city, they are wrong. $$$$$ is not always positive when there are many negatives.
