The design is actually very historicist - but I'm not sure why any architect today would reference the suburban office parks of the 1980's.
I find it funny that people actually think this is "new and bold". What would be refreshing would be if people actually respected the tradition of place-making in Charleston rather than making some token reference to the Charleston single-house and then slopping together something in Sketchup.
I am sure it will look fantastic in 5-10 years after all those glass and metal panels have had a chance to mature.
