It's not just about the mechanics of time travel that can be serious sticking points. It's all of the leaps of logic as well as failures in the mechanics that the movie has to force in order to get to that dramatic point. If the foundation is not strong, the building will fall, and the premise for this movie is extremely weak.
So let's say that you let the most powerful, ungodly power of time travel to a criminal organization, and the best abuse of it they can come up with is a fancy way of killing someone and dodging the legal system? With that power, they could give any enemy the John Connor treatment, and make billions using the Biff Tannen betting strategy.
So because all bodies have trackers in them, you send them back into the past to be killed. Where their trackers are still active and would be detected by the police eventually anyway, so they need to incinerate the body. So why didn't you incinerate the body there? Duh!!
So the mob is the only organization that has control of time travel, and on the police's tracking radar, they see a person's blip just disappear, immediately after being taken into mob headquarters. I would think that would be plenty enough to arrest every last one of them, especially if that happens every single time.
Solid bricks of gold? Really? You guys do know that all bricks of gold are imprinted with seals and numbered, and for some nobody to show up with solid gold bricks and try to cash them? Hah! you might as well shine a spotlight on yourself to the entire country. The FBI will be up your ass so far they will be able to tell what you're eating while you're eating it. Not to mention that those gold bricks, if the seal is still there, will denote when it was made, and reveal that they haven't been created yet, or they already exist and are safe in a vault. And if there is no seal, that still shines a huge spotlight on you, b/c each one is worth about a half a million dollars, and nobody uses them except governments.
I could keep going, I came up with 16 reasons this makes no sense, but I think you understand now how stupid and forced this is.
