changemonger, i agree. it's all about their bread and their ingredients. they really don't try to over complicate things and you can definitely tell in the final product. i have been a big supporter since trying them at the farmers market. kudos to them. i usually stop in their new place twice a week to get my fix. lastly, everyone in the place is friendly and helpful. its a nice change of pace.
Without a doubt, the best new spot in town. My wife and I are BIG fans. Aaron, you are right, the beef short rib is the bomb. It's tender and has just enough spice.
there are a lot of great sandwich places in charleston. b&b is great. their banh mi is tasty but it's different than bon banh mi's. different is good. i have had auto banh's and i can definitely say, bon banh mi's is not a lackluster version of theirs. in fact, i don't think it even compares at this point. bbm has great bread and there is nothing better than the five spice pork in my opinion. bbm is my favorite in this town and that may change as new options become available. it's just nice to see we have some great options.
bnp, that is a good point and i forgot to mention that in my post. your analogy of the dollar menu sums it up. good stuff. we love this place. it is a great addition to the charleston food scene and the neighborhood.
i have been here twice. the size and quality of the sandwich is nothing like you get in nyc or even the west coast. this is a fair price for what you get. my only recommendation would be to offer the fresh jalepenos like street hero has at the market. my wife and i love the fresh japs!
