Yes, because criminals, who are aptly named for the specific reason that they BREAK the law, care about gun laws. If only we can outlaw guns, then the criminals will rob banks with potatoes!
I've never heard a liberal respond to this argument: What makes you think outlawing guns will stop criminals from obtaining guns?
There's this thing called the drug war. People go to prison for decades for merely possessing drugs. Drugs are illegal. Yet amazingly, people keep obtaining them. Don't they realize drugs are illegal? Doesn't the mere existence of a statute in a law book automatically make them refrain from obtaining drugs?
