"Ryan Gosling just returned a stolen painting back to the Charleston Public Library"
I'm so glad he was an idiot! They only caught him because the security footage was clearer when he came back for more. And I'm even gladder to get some of my paintings back, at least! Police say they have a lead on the rest of them... Flame Nebula is still missing, though, so please keep an eye out for random space paintings being sold somewhere seedy.
A fourth painting was stolen this morning! Honestly, I am just appalled, both by the apparent complete lack of security at the library and this guy's audacity to not only just waltz in there and stuff pieces of art on free public display into his backpack, but COME BACK THE NEXT DAY! I posted another photo of the painting that was stolen today here: http://www.alizeykhan.com/paintings-stolen…
Weekly summer floods? How about every other day?
Such an awesome article! I've been collecting photos of the amazing hand-painted signs around downtown over the past few months... I need to get off my ass and put them all into a blog already. Hand-painted signs are indispensible to Charleston's local culture, in my mind, and I'm glad they're not completely obsolete here.
