I want to move to Charleston. Here in the Bay Area of CA we have to wait until Aug or sometimes Sept for ripe tomatoes & for related Mediterranean nightshades we love, eggplant & peppers & such. It's torture, I tell you, torture repeated yearly.
When do early vegetables like sweet peas & young leeks ripen?
On a related note, I rejoice to see that use of that supremely irritating word, "veggie" apparently hasn't infested your area. Here people seem unable to pronounce words of three syllables if they can be abbreviated into something shorter. I don't think I've heard or read the word, "vegetable" for decades.
I want to move to Charleston and eat local tomatoes in June. How long does the season last?
