As someone who uses the park I think the plan is a wonderful opportunity. Sadly it is easier to sell fear than opportunity. The whole don’t fix what is not broken slogan came up quite a few times at council. My question is, what is wrong with improvement? When did it become ok to settle for just good enough? The whole let’s not change anything because we are scared of change changing things mentality is disappointing. We are being given an opportunity and I think we should take it. Hampton Park is a park and it does not matter if you have lived near the park for 100 years or just drove over from West Ashley to enjoy it the Park belongs to everyone. It is supposed to be a beautiful place for people to enjoy and be outdoors. This is a great opportunity to help cars, bikes, and pedestrians all utilize the park.
