Re: “Downtown skatepark enters design phase

I agree, where do you think the fund comes from, I didn't read anything about the fund being created by private donations. That is like saying we don't pay for something because the Fed. Government is funding it. How many times have we heard that. I can understand very well what you punks don't. We pay state taxes and fereral government taxes. So the money came from one or the other. Just a different account. The comments to some of our questions only validate my feelings. I've never met a skateboarder that wasn't a punk and didn't act like one. I will be at any meeting opposing this. I've lived in other cities and the police have had to set up police sub stations at them due to the drugs, violence, underage drinking. If, you check it out, many have been built and closed down due to destruction and fighting.

Re: “Downtown skatepark enters design phase

I am not concerned about the cost of building this. I am more concerned about injuries and potential law suits against the city. And for clarkie, you sound like the typical goon that gives other skate boarders a bad name. Somebody has a question and you start with the name calling right away. We tax payers are going to take care of police patrols, emergency response teams. So if you can drop your attitude and explain where in the story it mentions covering costs. To top off my comment, your attitude has possibly driven many supporters away. I know you've lost mine. You are a perfect example of good skateborders ever being able to control people like yourself. I'm sure you will be first in line to destroy it and be responsible for it being closed down when punks like you take it over. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.

Re: “Charleston experiments with predictive policing

Computers can only process the information you punch in. They don't always get all angles. A good example is when they tell us the murder rate has gone down. Many times it went down because medical technology saves many that in the past would hee died. A more accurate count would be how many got shot, and had life threatening wounds. How many survived that in the past would have died, and increased the murder rate. Many times it is the doctors, not the police, that changed it from a murder to a shooting.

Re: “Charleston experiments with predictive policing

Don't they already have these answers. They list all the crimes and where they're commitited. When I listen to or read the news I hear the same streets, the same areas and the same neightborhoods. Get them out of the Mustangs and Chargers and on foot walking these areas. They did it with bikes and it has worked great. Many of these gadgets just duplicate what they can get from the feds, the state and many other groups. Just ride a bus with us and we can point out the trouble spots, which you already patrol in your cars.

Re: “Cruise Coleman Boulevard and sample craft beer

That is just what we need. Along with the bus people driving and sampling beer. Isn't that inviting trouble?
