This is very unfortunate. In an age where many people are unfit and overweight biking should not have more infringements on it. Also, for many people living on JI and working downtown a bike may be there only form of transportation. Having lived in Charleston for many years I can assure you that the connector is a much safer alternative to the wappoo cut route. Here in Hilton Head the state installed rumble strips on the painted line of the Cross Island Parkway. this has been a win win for all parties involved. It has allowed the continuous use of the Parkway for Cyclists runners and walkers while keeping drivers safer and more aware. Perhaps this is something that Charleston and Mayor riley can look into as well.
