Re: “Ron Paul wants more earmarks

Letter to South Carolina from a well wisher (and a fan of the Great Santinis among you, long live the independent mavericks, we all have our human flaws): please do not fall for war mongering or the exploitation of religious emotions by particular industries such as the military industry complex. I don't like the theocracy of Iran, or theocracies anywhere, but sanctions or war isn't the best way to get rid of it: all it's doing is diverting more oil money to Saudi Arabia as far as I can tell. But the most important reason to listen to Ron Paul's views on war is that it is a huge tax, big spending that is not only counterproductive but drains resources from economic production, and thereby puts you at a disadvantage to countries like China which don't have to wage wars to penetrate markets and acquire business. China hasn't had to wage war on the US to get numerous American companies to shift manufacturing facilities to their turf or to sell its goods all over the US. The US must concentrate on trade competition. I am too old to learn Mandarin or any other Chinese language, and I doubt you want your descendants to switch to one of the Chinese languages either. The US should be the most prosperous and popular country on the planet, leading the way through economic strength and the character of liberty. Out of the current candidates in the arena, only Ron Paul can deliver this. Gingrich's hypocritical record speaks for itself, Santorum is a sad variation of Gingrich, Romney is a cartoon character born with a golden spoon in an orfice and a dream of Presidential power, and Obama is a (O)bummer. Please vote for Ron Paul, certainly the best thing to do.
