The 21 century watchword in North Mt. P. is annexation, not secession

I attended this meeting and was not at all impressed with our school district. Half of the "50 parents" were teachers and principals and other 'non-parents.' The lack of attendence is an indicator of what the people really think of CCSD's approach for gaining community (parents) input and ideas. The meeting was overly structured, controlled, and fast-paced. I felt like a kindergartener playing foursquare rather than an intelligent adult participating in a valuable input process on behalf of our kindergarteners in classrooms. Additionally, the meeting agenda was passed out with "draft" on it meaning it was subject to last minute change. Thus, the district was justified when the last item, the public comment period, was eliminated altogether. No public comments in a meeting intended to listen openly to nothing but community feedback? Finally, the meeting lasted less than the scheduled time given. CCSD simply cannot utilize this format and claim that genuine, thoughtful parental/community input has taken place for a five year plan!
