Re: “Far too many are having the wrong reaction to Rolling Stone's Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover

Story was fine, glorifying cover photo was a mistake.

Re: “Stegelin: 1st District Elephant Parade

Mat-it's mainly a bar, they aren't stealing business, they asked & they are paying rent I believe. BIG difference than the food truck setting up on their own without asking.

Re: “Charleston Ballet Theatre board resigns, dancers' pay suspended

DY - So quick to point the finger at the past boards, yet unwilling to lend a hand or do it yourself. That is the American way, point fingers, lay blame without providing a solution or assisting your self - just like a politician. Plenty of the board are without financial resources. It does not surprise me, as not much does anymore, but typical finger pointing followed by a list of excuses for not helping.

Re: “Charleston Ballet Theatre board resigns, dancers' pay suspended

DY - you are incorrect & should not criticize the boards unless you stood beside them in the meetings and worked the long hard hours into the wee hours of the morning as they did, only to be berated by Jill, Patty & the general public for even being involved with the organization, giving up time with their family to do this. They did not walk away & I know this first hand. This organization needed to go away. Patty cannot be removed as easily as you think (see by laws) & Don hasn't spoken at a meeting in years. (Many felt at times the need to check for a pulse.) The debt is too big to be paid off (excess $250k) & the public has no confidence in the organization while Jill & Patty are on hand. The donors have repeatedly said they will not give money to CBT with Jill & Patty still involved. The only ones to blame are Jill & Patty, they have gone against the advice of very smart people on just about everything & ran CBT into the ground. Too many bridges have been burnt beyond repair. A new organization ill reappear. And again no, the board is not always financially responsible for the debts, but certain ones they can be. But since you have all the answers, i assume you will be joining the 'New' board with Jill, Patty & Don to solve everything. Good luck.

Re: “Charleston Ballet Theatre board resigns, dancers' pay suspended

The last 2 posts are dead wrong about the past couple boards. They have done all they can, but the artistic leaders hold all the reins and will not change & have finally run it into the ground. The last 2 boards worked extremely hard and were at a point where Jill & Patty put them in a bad place where they can be held liable for certain financial items. Yes, in this instance, the blame falls directly on the artistic head who chased all away. Thankfully this organization is over. A new one will emerge with out Jill & Patty. Don't point fingers if you don't know the entire situation.
