Re: “Republicans sweep statewide offices in S.C.

cowardly anonymous - let's see, good old boys voted in resounding fashion a single parent raised African American person and the offspring of Indian descent for 2 of the 3 most important positions. Those 2 got more votes than our Good Old boy Lindsey Graham in his victory due to no real competition and many of us would have liked to see a good fiscal conservative take his place even if black, white, Hispanic, Indian. That is how bad the left has gotten. Will not see reality when it hits them in the face. Sheheen is a "good old boy" democrat. You mr anonymous anonymous are ignorant and will perpetuate stereotypes regardless if they are correct or not!

Re: “Hear from the protesters who blocked the Crosstown for an hour

This is a joke. Fast food is doing less and less business as we figure out their food is making a large percentage of our population and those protesters obese. Just look at the pics. I am not lying. And the union asked if they have a record and took up all the tickets. They will get them thrown out probably as first offense. That is why they were willing to stay out there. Guess what, their next time won't be a first offense and the union won't bail them out. People in our area do not get $15 and hour for hardly any jobs. And to force this outdated Fast Food industry to pay their workers that much will close up lots of stores instead of providing good part time employment or supplemental work for students. But the girl in the article that dropped out of school and takes care of 2 siblings! Is that the resume of someone that should get $15 per hour. She needs help in getting better education but to insist she should get paid as much as kids with degrees or adults with degrees is ludicrous. Either way, it is a lose, lose. And one of those losses should be in loss of weight and we can go to a restaurant that serves good food and tip the worker that gets only a few bucks and hour plus tips because they earn it. Not because they demand it because some union told them it is due to them.

Re: “Once again, a case of racial profiling leads to tragedy

I would love to thank that officer for possibly saving the life of others. Curnell was carrying a gun unlawfully and had extra ammo. If he had not been stopped more may have died.

Re: “It's been 12 days since Denzel Curnell was shot and still no report

They still can't say anything because no matter what they say it will be so misinterpreted by the media and the NAACP. Why do you think North Charletson is losing one of the best Police Chiefs in the country right now. Tired of the junk he puts up with this type of issue. If everyone had common sense the police or SLED would be able to say what happened now instead of having to take extraordinary efforts in order to try to avoid(probably unsuccessfully) a lawsuit from someone. I am pretty sure we will find out the decedent committed suicide. It is a shame but when the investigation does finish I will be ok with the findings and those same folks will not.

Re: “Update: The trouble with the Wild Wing discrimination story (The video is back)

spent 10 years in the food and bev business. 25 people and no reservation in downtown Charleston is the stupidest move a group could make unless they were trying to cause an incident. Casual Restaurants normally will not make reservations at a lot of downtown places unless you have a group over a certain size like 8 or more and still some will not do that. I can't see this video for some reason but don't care. sounds like the restaurant was willing to seat them until they got rude and yes, if a group is loud, rude, obnoxious, etc. then Wild Wings should not have to seat them. Been there a few times and been a great mix of folks from all ethnicities.
