There is actually another spiced rum put out by Cruzan Rum from St Croix. It kills Captain too.The same family has been distilling Cruzan for 8 generations and its delicious! Apparently its called Cruzan 9 for the 9 spices in the recipe (Allspice, Vanilla, Ginger, Cinnamon,Pepper, Nutmeg, Clove, & Juniper Berry) Its an aged rum of superior quality that doesnt kill the pocketbook! I bought mine for about $12 bottle!

Hey Native76.... Maybe you had too much sake to drink when you were at Basil and your palate and eye sight were ruined. Apparently you didnt notice the "authentic' line up in the kitchen preparing your homeade meal. The food at Basil is delicious and is the most consistent restaurant I have ever eaten at. I have visited there over 50 times for lunch and dinner and have never had a bad meal trying nearly everything on the menu. Not to mention the service is always good and you always have your food in a timely manner. They didn't win restaurant of the year routinely because they have shitty food....get a clue...or new tastebuds!
