I predicted this - not from the recent economic downturn but more from the complete lack of salesmanship in the employees. I visited the store twice, well dressed and looking for all the world like a "viable" customer! Both times, I could have dropped dead and no one would have even acknowledged me. I even tried on several articles of clothing, and could have used a little enthusiasm in creating an outfit, to no avail. After the second visit, i wrote that shop off my list. When the corporate office doesn't train and maintain good staff, the store will fail, regardless of its nice stock.
Re: “Hominy Grill”
My last two visits for lunch have been so disappointing. Servers are zombie-like with no interaction or introduction. Just walk up and say "there's the special board. Ready to order?" Bloody mary's had to be sent back because they were basically tomato flavored water. Cheese grits had virtually no hint of cheese. It's been embarrassing because both times I was entertaining guests for their first time at a well known restaurant in charleston. Come on, guys, don't slip now.
