Re: “Panhandlers meet angry resistance in West Ashley

Panhandling would hurt Charleston's image? Yea, because the previous 400 years made Charleston look so endearing? That's like saying graffiti would hurt Auschwitz's legacy.

Re: “Mayor Riley, Chief Mullen want to close new bars, restaurants at midnight

DUI's are going to go up which is going to drive more revenue into Charleston City Government. Typical Charleston Police mentality. Set up speed traps and sit on their fat, lazy asses waiting to write tickets. It's more than likely going to pass because for one the old, bigots in this town want it and two the F & B scene can't handle their fun in a responsible manner.

Re: “To be true patriots, we must look at where our country has fallen short

My sentiments exactly. Excellent article. Our people need to wake up to what's really happening with our nation. We are becoming the very monster that our nationalistic ideologists campaign against. We are Patrick Bateman who's mask of sanity is about to slip.

Re: “3 Avondale bartenders busted in underage beer sting

I don't know what's worse. The fact that this is news or that there is a shock that bartenders in Charleston fail to ID people. I used to bounce at O'Malleys and other King Street Bars where the owners would tell us to let people in if they had an ID even if the ID's were fake since VICE tells us that catching fake ID's wasn't the job of staff to catch which is a slippery slope when you really think about it. Honestly there needs to be more of this since the majority of the problems that stem from night scene in Charleston comes from bar owners and bartenders knowingly breaking laws in regards to over serving and serving underage customers in order to get better tips. Mullen wants to force bars to have more security when in reality if the police enforced the laws that are already on the books then the downtown scene would be less chaotic.

Re: “Why does the government continue to promote biking?

I have been following the Snowden situation and our government has a lot of explaining to our country and the world for PRISM. This woman is symbolic of why our government has become what it is which is just an ad agency for the Federal Reserve as well as all other components of international banking networks that keep the poor in lower class while keeping the bourgeois in luxury and the working class in fear of being poor. Her symbolism is of greed, ego, and ignorance. Not all cyclists are looking at this as some ground for political gain. They just want to be able to ride their bike to wherever without having to worry about un-euneducated hick running them over just because he/she ddoesn't agree with traffic safety.
