This show was FABULOUS. Please go see it.
Let's not turn this into an argument over Pro vs. College Ball. I'm a Packers fan and a Georgia fan and love them both very much. But guess what? If Aaron Rodgers got hurt, he would have still made a ton of money. When college players get hurt, they sometimes lose the game they love AND their scholarships - great, they can't play football OR get a degree. This sucks, and the rules need to be changed.
Thoughts and Prayers for Marcus and his recovery.
Richard is amazing and will do a fabulous job! This is great news for Footlight.
You say the commitment to the original script is noticable, but this is a four hour opera....I believe they have cut it down to two hours. While this is a more normal timeframe for footlight audiences, I would hardly say this is a commitment to the original script. Also, to reduce the score down for a 12 person orchestra when the music is so vital to the production is just criminal. (However, kudos to the person who did it, thats was a lot of work) If footlight wants to attempt a production on this scale, they need to be able to hire more than 12 musicians.
Clarkie....please shut the hell up.
Re: “Cypress Lowcountry Grille”
I went to Cypress for the first time last night for Restaurant Week. It cost $90 with tip for two restaurant week dinners and a martini - the martini (Lavender) was the only thing worth paying for.
Started with Lobster Bisque - it was okay. I had the Koren Beef BBQ for dinner and the first four or five bites tasted like nothing but char and ash from the grill. The rice and veggies were lackluster and overall I decided I'd rather save the calories for dessert. Bad idea. The Pecan Pie was horrible. One of the worst desserts I've ever had during restaurant week. It was small and round and I had to hold on to it with my hand in order to cut the crust. The middle was dry and it was just...definitely not good.
As someone who looks forward to restaurant week each September/January and really enjoys trying new places I can't normally afford, I was very dissappointed to have wasted my money here. If I ever go again, it will be to get a Lavender Martini from the bar upstairs - I'll eat dinner somewhere else.
