I never said that I hated God Clarkie. So stop putting words into my mouth. In fact I was born and raised in a very strict southern baptist home. My grandfather when alive was a preacher, and my father followed in his footsteps. I personally am not gay, and I still stand by my last comment. You need to live your life for yourself, and stop being so concerned on how others live theirs. Because when that day comes for God to judge it will be up to him, not you.
I will admit that saying God will do nothing was probably not the right set of words. But as far as earthquakes, floods etc I'm going to simply say mother nature, physics etc. God said in the bible that he would never destroy the world by flood again. If God wanted us all to be the same then why would he make everyone of us different?
I believe that you are entitled to your opinion Clarkie...but you need to give others the right to do the same. Do you really lose sleep at night because same sex couples are wanting to marry? If your answer to this is yes then you need to really reevaluate your life.
And just to throw it in there I think Morgan Freeman is doing an excellent job at proving the "sanctity" of marriage right now. Divorcing his wife of 26 years to marry his step-granddaughter. Epic.
Gays may even IMPROVE the institution of marrige.
But there a bunch of heteros (the religious right) who simply think that marrige should be their own "members only" club.
Then when you LOOK at the divorce/adultery/spousal abuse statistics you realize that over half of the "members" OF this private club are using it as a latrine. And they want to keep it private so they can tell themselves how "sanct" the club is, while they're pissing in the middle of the floor.
The time for that self delusion....is over.
There's an old joke in N. Calif that asks:
"What does a Lesbian bring on her second date?"
ANSWER: "A U-Haul truck."
This joke falls into the "it's funny because it's true" catagory.
Gay women are generally the MOST stable demographic as far as relationships...They tend to pair up, and STAY paired up. I bet Gay women ALONE would alter the divorce rates in this country in a favorable way...probably by 3-5 whole percentage points.
We SHALL see....
The DOMA will be ruled unConstitutional, equal marrige rights will be won, the sky will NOT fall (it hasn't in any country where gays CAN marry), the christian god will do exactly what it continues to do, (nothing) and the economy will improve ever so slightly with the introduction of three little words as one phrase in the American lexicon:
Then maybe we can address some REAL issues.
