I am very open minded and read a lot of novels - some that have a significant amount of violence and sex turn out quite good. TGWTDT is not one of them. The idea that because someone has "gone through so much" makes being a sociopath heroic is complete drivel. I and my sisters have gone through as much - not a one of us admires Lisbeth's personality or choice of making her way in the world. Do we give an excuse to sociopaths who torture women because they had abusive mothers? Meh for this book - not worth your money or time.
