With ironic titles like "Defunding the Abortion Industry and Advancing Women's Health Act" and "Women's Ultrasound Right to Know Act," our legislators continue to affirm their philosophy of being pro-life UNTIL birth. As long as they don't have to fund health care for pregnant women, that is.
SC legislators are happy to jump on the anti-privacy bandwagon with a new bill that "encourages" churches to install surveillance equipment. They say it's for our safety but I imagine those videos would come in handy if law enforcement wanted to check in on neighborhood mosques. And I thought places of worship were places where people could go for private prayer and reflection.
Nikki Haley is a proud member of the Republican Governors Association. She may not call it a union, but a group that is formed to promote its members sure sounds like a union.
If you have to lie and omit facts about your priorities, I guess you must know that people would be upset to hear the truth. Tim Scott has always been for big business and against helping working people; since he's been in the federal government he's gotten a lot better at obfuscation.
