Working like a dawg
I and my wife enjoyed four years on Daufuskie back in the opening heydays of Melrose, yes it was developers project but all the same it did bring prosperity to the island and it's residents for many years.
That's all gone now but please don't be lead on by this article that it was due to the protest of Pickney or his island buddy Dr. Buzzards curse, no it was a simple thing called economic downturn and private investor change of mind.
So please don't let the less than grandiose lifestyle and use of those (aka four wives) that fell for his self labeled " hemingwayisq" aura make this story more than it is and that being nothing nor anyone that I would even remotely find interesting or resembling a story.
I am happy that Mr. Pickney has found his niche in life and hopefully his bottle of Jim Beam stays full until that day he leaves the island for good, be it in handcuffs or feet first as he bodily notes.
And yes Lewis, I do understand your point of view!
