Ironically, the Spoleto site explicity says that they don't care what you wear when you come to their events, as long as you come and enjoy the show. Apparently CityPaper doesn't even reference other sites when bashing the attire of us Charlestonians.
You lost my respect at rule #2 mentioning wearing something spicy. Do you like subjecting women to the vulgarity of a meat market? In a college town that already has too many girls dressing like Sorostitutes, is it really necessary to encourage less classier dressing? Sometimes, simple clean attire shows a modicum of self respect for yourself and others.
Re: “What your bike says about you ... or what you want it to”
When pretentiousness reaches such a level that you are classifying people (and their wardrobe) by the type of bike they use...it's time to take a trip and reflect on your own deeply-seeded emotional issues that cause you to stereotype people without ever knowing them.
