It isn't the "L" word it's the "B" word. Benghazi! over and over and over. Graham's bill is a total affront to the women of SC. Just plain nuts = Lindsey!
CID99 - "Apparently, not a person on here understands, nor respects faith, nor even has the willingness within them to look after it. Not even worth discussion without respect." There are many here I believe who have had the same experience that I have had in life. I was raised as a child by my parents to be a "Baptist". The preacher preached "hell fire and brimstone" every Sunday and would NOT allow tattoos, un-married living together couples, unmarried women who had children out of wedlock, drinking, cussing, cursing, and many others "sinful" things be members. Later in life my grandmother came to live in our home. My grandmother was a traveling missionary/witness for Jehovah's Witness. This was in the 1950's. During the summer months I accompanied by grandmother on many trips into the heartland of South Carolina, calling from home to home, "White" and "Black", where she did her best to convince those who would allow her into the home to accept the "true" meaning of the Bible. I never liked the Baptist Faith. I felt parental pressure to accept the Jehovah's Witness belief as mine. I did like the idea of "god" and the story of "Jesus" and how "Jesus" especially looked out for the poor and needy and that everyone should love one another. I went on to serve my country during the VietNam war and served in the Air Force. Our commander had an appreciation for those who went to church. I had a desire to make Sgt. and so I became a Lutheran for that tour of duty. Afterwards and further in life it became apparent to me that it is an undeniable fact that there can be no "god" as presented in the man written texts combined and man approved as a "Word of God". It is preposterous. I now believe that "religion" is a threat to the entire world. Religion is a tax free front for thought control and subjugation to others your free will to think for yourself and take responsibility for your personal actions. I have personally concluded after receiving considerable education from many sources and forms of thought including science, archeology and history of the world that the "bible" is re-written fables of old. As has been proven in the past "religion" is a way to control people in masses to promote agendas that are of man. You must not let it take you!
What can you expect from a state that believes it's duty is to fund education at an a "minimally adequate" amount?
@bvoyer - Say again, who wrote that book called the bible and when? How many translations were made and why? On whose authority did this collection of writings become known as the bible and why were some writings omitted? Did humans actually walk with dinosaurs? Is the earth really only 6,000 years old? Because you have "faith" does that make the bible true? -- As for Cubillan and "EVA" I appreciate their advocacy against ignorance.
Very well said and I certainly agree. I like your 'English". On some occassions it is necessary to use language especially designed to reflect ones total distate for a person who undeservedly claims to have a direct channel to his "God". Jim DeMint is an internationally recognized disgrace to the State of South Carolina; and everyone in Charleston wonders why the Port of Charleston expansion is not completed.
