I just finished reading the follow up to this love letter. Am I the only one who think Jack spends his free time writing rps fic about Rand Paul where Jack is the Mary Sue?
Oh god. I want to get into a really long comment here but it totally isn't worth it. Libertarians live in such a fantasy world. Dude. Assholes are not a protected class and should not be for a reason. Are you claiming that your assholery is inborn and unavoidable? But I digress. Rand Paul may not actually be a racist or ablist. However, he IS an idiot. Professorial? He sounds more like a functional illiterate, as someone else said recently. Whatever. And that crap about how he would have marched with MLK? As if. It's easy to be a revolutionary in your own mind, isn't it? Libertarianism is not a revolution, by the way, since I know the tea partiers and Libertarians like to think of themselves as fucking freedom fighters. "The Man" asserting his right to be "The Man" is not a freaking revolution. It is business as goddamn usual. Man, am I in a bad mood today.
Jeez, that took forever. You're missing the point alltogether. Many illegal immigrants DO pay into the coffers and they are never going to get that sweet social security payment back. Studies have been done showing that immigrants are beneficial. Please take a moment to review this little one done by the GWB White House.

Edumacation. Get it.
I love the meme that illegal aliens don't pay taxes. Like they don't rent properties whose landlords pay property taxes. Like they don't pay sales taxes when they buy stuff just like you and I do. And like the employers don't often withhold taxes ascribed to fake socials, the benefits of which will never be collected. In fact, since many of them earn so little, their tax burden would be incredibly low or nil if they were legals.
Re: “Edwin McCain, Sam Bush to play for Mark Bryan TV concert venture”
Uh. I think they are shooting higher than public access. From what I've heard, there is cable network interest. Maybe it will fail. I'm no Edwin McCain fan, but I think this is a great idea and could be awesome for Charleston.
