The tip should mirror the service received. I don't tip 20% if the service is poor. Knowing that many servers are working their way thru school, I tip 20% if the service is adaquate and more if they go out of their way to enhance my experience. I tip less if they are unattentive. There are many great servers out there but there are also many bad servers who believe the restaurant business is a great way to pay their way through school regardless of the quality service they provide....NOT EVERY COLLEGE STUDENT IS A GOOD SERVER.....Don't reward BAD service. PERIOD
