And just one more clarification... Our artist friend Jonathan Brilliant, creates sculpture OUT of the little wooden stir sticks by weaving them together not OF them. See his mind-blowing work here: http://jonathanbrilliant.com/
Thanks!

Re: “Buff and Leila Ross launch online gallery showcasing local and national artists

Thanks for this, as press is certainly appreciated! We do want to clarify a couple of things...We are not focusing on local artists only. We sell emerging artists' work from ALL over. As you can see on the site, Kate Davis Caldwell lives and works in Los Angeles, Lisa Weiss in Kentucky and Sarah Boyts Yoder, in Virginia. Secondly, we want readers to understand that what sets us apart from other gallery models is that we tell the story behind EACH piece of art that is shown on the site. The artist is provided a unique venue to explain why or how he/she created it- either by sharing about their inspiration or their process. That's the component that hopefully, connects the artist to the buyer/collector/art lover! Cheers!

Re: “Confronting segregation in Charleston

A TRULY GREAT PIECE! Having lived in the soulful city of New Orleans, where folks of all walks of life REALLY celebrate and support the local high schools' marching bands, it has always saddened me that we, here in Charleston, keep that musical and cultural talent at arms length. Thanks Jaime for shedding some light on this!
