My first experience at CO was so-so, with a japanese dish being the best of the dishes we ordered (which is ironic since it's touted mainly as a Vietnamese joint). I would like to point out that the buns on the pork bun sliders, described by the reviewer as "steamed", are actually fried. If you've ever had a steamed bun it is quite obvious these are far from steamed. Also, the pork belly in ours was dry without much fat, and there was so much sauce that you couldn't taste anything else. My boyfriend got the pho, and being a PHOnatic, was highly disappointed. The noodles were all stuck together and in a huge clump, and the broth was lacking in complexity and flavor. I was not shocked by the sticker price given the setting and the location. Gotta pay that King St rent! I would probably go back for the atmosphere, not so much the food. Also, it would be nice if the owner and chef could take these reviews and use them as a way to improve upon the food and dining experience for their customers.
Re: “The Post-Husk Era”
Wonderfully written with some important points to ponder. Thanks.
