Thank you, Art!
Federal handouts always come with strings attached - aside from the obvious taxing of citizens to recoup such funds (where else would one assume such money could possibly come from?) there's greater federal regulation of our state (just what we need)... Among the myriad of valid reasons NOT to accept such funds. As for the Mitt endorsement, obviously she selected a candidate that the Republican party feels is most 'marketable' - not that I agree with that in the least, but I understand why. I don't have to agree with everything she does though on a whole, I do feel she acts in the best interests of the state and her constituents.
I for one am 100% glad that Haley turned down federal money. Federal handouts equate to our state being indebted to, and 'owing' something in return. This person obviously has personal biases against the governor. I would ask, however, that Charleston City Paper do the responsible thing and offer her the opportunity to address and refute these claims. Not all of your reading public is made up of liberals.
Clyburn is a fool in bed with unions. He, too should have been voted out.
never had a bad meal/experience there and i will continue to give them my business.
Re: “Queen Anne's Revenge”
I have never, ever had a bad meal here, and I eat here semi-frequently. I have always experienced the friendliest service here - is it slow at times - sure, but this place gets busy, so be patient. I would say come here for lunch or dinner because that is their specialty. The steak and seafood dishes are fantastic. Brunch is not bad but I think they're still getting their groove for brunch. Honestly - dinner here is where it's at. Steak tips with mushrooms is to die for - and no, I don't work at Queen Anne's - nor do I personally know anyone who does. With French and Italian parents, I know good food and Queen Anne's has it.
