I went to a class with Heather (my first Bikram class) and did not care for her style of instructing, she seemed very scripted and unoriginal (maybe this is the Bikram way?). She called new yogis out for doing certain poses "wrong". I know that instruction is necessary however there is a kind way to correct someone and a rude way to embarrass someone by calling them out in front of the whole class. This can be very intimidating and off putting for someone who is new to yoga. Thank goodness I have been practicing for years! I do not want to give up on Bikram, so want to know which instructor to seek out?
Also, is it normal for the room to be without music and have bright light? I prefer the relaxing dim lighting of Blue Turtle - better for meditation and enabling focus.
