While it's true that we have live music pretty much every night of the week, no one wants to see the same 5 bands over and over. We just don't. We love you guys, but there's only so many times we can hear your stuff without getting...bored. We crave VARIETY in Charleston, as well as seeing something new and different from our local bands once in a while.

I actually grew up in Charleston. What annoys me is that, while this article may have some tongue-in-cheek points, there is a growing faction that ACTUALLY are of this mindset.

I can't believe this is even being printed. This is one of the dumbest fucking arguments I've ever read. 99% of people are shitty, it's not regionally exclusive. I personally like to base my opinions on whether or not the person in question is a total fucking douchebag. And based on my scientific research, equal amounts of douchebaggery come from Ohio AND South Carolina. We also have the luxury of being less educated, more racist, and morbidly obese! Can you really blame someone for wanting to move from the cold, harsh winters of the midwest to our beautiful city? It's this kind of attitude that gives Southerners an even WORSE reputation than we already have!
